A panagraphing movement is created with the lift arms (blue) and control rods. Equal spacing of the hinge points (shown by the white double arrows) allows the platform to remain level while raising and lowering the lift.

Our patented lockout occurs when the pin joint between the lower link (orange) and the upper link (green) passes beyond the plane connecting the hinge points as shown by the dotted line. In this position, downward force (Fw) from the weight of the platform and/or cargo will cause a reaction force (r) in the lockout direction preventing the platform from falling in the event of hydraulic power loss.
